Poor Yuwie is suffering at the hands of its own members in their feverish attempts to gain referrals. The Y Guy has been forced make a posting telling members to "Stop Spamming" in an attempt to get members to behave more responsibly.!!
He says, in part, "It is causing problems with mail delivery and it is giving Yuwie a bad name across the internet. Spamming is against our terms and will cause your account to be locked, if you're reported for it, so please don't do it. There are plenty of legitimate ways of getting referrals, and posting your referral link. Check some of the clubs for legitimate ideas and suggestions on how to get referrals."

My first 4 weeks on Yuwie at 1st November 2007
Here is the weekly snapshot of memberships taken on 1st November 2007

and compare this to the memberships snapshot taken 4 weeks ago

We can see that over the last four weeks here at Yuwie, total memberships have grown from 114,00 to 218,904. an increase of 104,904 in 4 weeks - thats a 92% increase in October from the previous 2 months since they started ! Is it any wonder that on occasions the pages have been slow to load!
Now, I effectively started on the site on 1st October- an auspicious start date. Below is the snapshot of my statistics on the 4th October.

and now my page on 1st November 2007

Its fair to say that this far exceeds my expectations - I have consistently spent several hours per day focussed on Yuwie, sending friends requests, browsing and reading pages of interest, commenting and emailing friends, exploring links, building websites and referral pages and other networking websites.
I really did not expect that the first 4 weeks would earn anything. I have been reluctant to really promote this site to friends until I had a feel for it, but have focussed on introducing the site to others and providing some information to those who may be interested. I have had 17 referrals sign up but 2 of those left without doing anything - I now have 15 referrals as it stands now, and I am guessing but it looks I do actually have earnings, something in the order of $0.70 !! woohoo!!
So there you have my first 4 weeks on Yuwie - this is the warts and all version -the absolute and honest portrayal. But I find myself thinking, if this happened in 4 weeks as I blundered around, what will happen in another 4 weeks, and then another 4 weeks - what about this time next year??
Oh it may be a flight of fancy ... but its fun !

Yuwie Does Pay
Yuwie has announced changes to the payout threshold. Previously members had to have earned a minimum of $50 before being eligible for payment. Members have now been advised that this was being reduced from $50 to $25.00 payable in 60 days net. This means that payment dates for August will be paid in October; September will be paid in December; and October will be paid in January.
So those that reached the $25 in August have been receiving their payments now.
The first Yuwie Checks and PayPal Payments are being received and members have been posting scans of their payment, as proof, that Yuwie does indeed pay !
While there were members commenting about not reaching the $25 threshold - some have posted screens shots of their first months earnings for example Patrick $71.13,Buddy $26.48,Vic $99.10.
One of this nice things about Yuwie is the exchange of information between members. The fact that members share details about their successes, and how they achieved them, with a view to assisting others to do the same, makes this network a nice place to be !
I guess the cynics might see it differently, but I believe that by members encouraging and helping others to succeed, this indeed helps grow Yuwie, which as a consequence benefits all the members.
