The November RSR and earnings reports have been announced and the November rate is the highest so far !
NOVEMBER RSR = $0.54
It seems that the Yuwie system is working, and the members ARE really making money.
It is important to note that you have to have a minimum of $25 before you can get paid. They pay net 60 which means any earnings for November will be paid in February. Those members who didn't earn enough to receive payment this month, will see their earnings rolled into next month.

Is Yuwie.com a Glimpse into Future of Online Business?
Is Yuwie.com a Glimpse into Future of Online Business?
Social networking site attempts to outflank MySpace & Facebook by sharing advertising revenues with end-users.
Norma, Okla. (PRWEB via PRWebDirect) December 3, 2007 -- Yuwie.com, one of the Internet’s newest social networking sites, today announced the details behind their innovative and highly successful new online business model.
“MySpace and Facebook have already proven how business can make money from the efforts of end-users,” said Korry Rogers, founder and CEO of Yuwie. “Yuwie is proving that both businesses and end-users can finally share the $100 million per month advertising revenue that floods into the social networking market today.”
Rogers explains that Yuwie’s business model is based upon two core tenants: 1) End-user participation is free – no sign-up fees or subscription fees are required, and 2) Yuwie currently distributes well over half of the site’s advertising revenue back to participating end-users. Not only are Yuwie’s end-users paid for the traffic generated for their own personal page, but also for the traffic generated by friends they refer to the site, in addition to traffic generated from their friends’ subsequent referrals (for up to ten (10) layers or generations of personal referrals).
"The revenue potential for end-users is striking and very exciting once you start to run the numbers;” explained Rogers. "If someone only refers three of their friends, who refer three of their friends through ten levels, that one person will ultimately collect a percentage of advertising revenues from about 88,000 end-users, which can translate to about $8,800 per month for that person – every month."
So far, end-users’ response to Yuwie’s new business model has completely shattered initial projections by attracting 300,000 registered members to Yuwie’s brand of social networking – in just five (5) months. Moreover, Yuwie’s growing page views, which currently total 1,800,000 per day, have catapulted the website’s global ranking from below the top 100,000 list, to one of the top 2,500 websites in the world.
About Yuwie.com

Yuwie Memberships as at 1st December 2007

Now Yuwie has continued to grow but at a slower rate this month.
We can see that over the last four weeks here at Yuwie, total memberships have grown from 218,904on 1st November to 300,434. an increase of 81,530 which is approximately 20,000 less than the 104,904 last month.
Now for some reason, they were very quick off the mark in clearing monthly members stats for the month and I was too late for a screen shot. However, according to my records, despite having increased my referrals to a total of 20 this month - my total page views remained much the same as last month ! Not exactly inspiring and it depends on what RSR rate is declared for November. Last months at .32c saw many people less than impressed.
Oh well, its all good fun !

Yuwie Radio
Yuwie Radio has now launched - The brain child of Ty Warren, Scott Matusow & Bryan Ward.
"Welcome To Y Radio. We have All the good & the bad information about Yuwie. We are the 1st & BEST source for Yuwie News & Information. You can only get your questions answered LIVE by the owner of Yuwie.com Korry here every Thursday @ 7pm PST."
The first session I listened to was a bit 'primitive' I do not think they realized they had an audience and boys, were just being boys ! But I tuned in a week later, and they were a little more professional and ran a reasonable talk back session with callers.

Inappropriate Advertising
The following was posted by the Y Guy:
"We have been getting reports of inappropriate ads on the site. We want our advertisers to abide by the same content rules we make our users abide by. Unfortunately, we don't have preapproval rights for any of our advertising networks. All we can do is ban the advertiser once we see them on the site.
If you see ads that are inappropriate, or break any content rules that we have set, please get as much information about the ad as you can and send it to us. We have several advertising networks serving ads on Yuwie, so giving us as much information as possible will make it easier for us to track down the advertiser and ban them. Try to collect the following information:
1. The URL the ad links to.
2. Who's serving the ad. (Google, AdOn Network, etc)
3. Take a screenshot if possible.
4. The URL of the page the ad was on.
Please be assured that we don't want these ads on the site, but we don't know about them until you tell us."
I find this hard to believe - that a proclaimed family friend site does not have some process for approving advertising content.

'Family Friendly Policy' being Enforced
Yuwie has always made it clear that they intend to keep Yuwie as a family friendly and safe place for work. They clearly state "that if you put content on your site that is adult in nature, or too sexual, vulgar, violent etc, your profile will be locked, until the content is removed."
But in reality, with the site growing so rapidly, this has become difficult for them to monitor and enforce this policy.
This week they made an announcement that they are on the verge of signing a deal with a MAJOR advertising network. However, there is a lot of content now on the site that is too provocative and this is holding up the deal . Their advertisers don't want to advertise on a site that has suggestive, or provocative images.
So Yuwie has enlisted the help of members to help to clean up the site and offered free referrals as an incentive.
"On every page there is a 'report content' link at the bottom of the page. If you see a page that you think violates our terms, click the link, then tell us what on the page violates our terms, and submit the report. We will then review the page. If we agree that the content on the page violates our terms, you will receive 1 credit. For every 10 credits you receive, we'll give you a free referral.
Profile Owners: You are responsible for the content on your page. If you allow a friend to post an image in your comments that violates our terms, your profile will be locked until you delete the image. Remember, you have controls in your account settings that allow you to approve all comments before they're posted on your profile.
Club Owners: If you allow images in your club that violates our terms, your account can be locked and your club may be deleted. Please moderate your own clubs."
This has certainly caused some ripples in the Yuwie pond. Interestingly, there have been a lot of positive comments that have been made in support of removing most of the more objectionable material from a few sites. However many members qualify that support for the outcome, by expressing concern at HOW this is being undertaken. The notion of members reporting members and being paid for doing so, is not popular and has caused rifts and divisions in some friendship circles.
I imagine that when the November RSR rated is announced around 15th December, we will see whether the end justifies the means!!

Octobers Revenue Sharing Rate
The October RSR and earnings reports have been generated. and the OCTOBER RSR = $0.35
This is lowest rate since they launched and the Y Guy was quick to admit that it was a lot lower than they would have liked, but advertising was not so good during October.
He did comment that it was important to bear in mind that internet advertising has peaks and valleys, so our RSR will always fluctuate, but this month looks much better, so far.
FYI:
1. You have to have a minimum of $25 before you can get paid.
2. They pay net 60 which means any earnings for October will be paid around January 1. (They have to collect from advertisers before they can pay out)
3. If you didn't earn enough to get a payment this month, your earnings will be rolled into next month.

Spam becomes a problem
Poor Yuwie is suffering at the hands of its own members in their feverish attempts to gain referrals. The Y Guy has been forced make a posting telling members to "Stop Spamming" in an attempt to get members to behave more responsibly.!!
He says, in part, "It is causing problems with mail delivery and it is giving Yuwie a bad name across the internet. Spamming is against our terms and will cause your account to be locked, if you're reported for it, so please don't do it. There are plenty of legitimate ways of getting referrals, and posting your referral link. Check some of the clubs for legitimate ideas and suggestions on how to get referrals."

My first 4 weeks on Yuwie at 1st November 2007
Here is the weekly snapshot of memberships taken on 1st November 2007

and compare this to the memberships snapshot taken 4 weeks ago

We can see that over the last four weeks here at Yuwie, total memberships have grown from 114,00 to 218,904. an increase of 104,904 in 4 weeks - thats a 92% increase in October from the previous 2 months since they started ! Is it any wonder that on occasions the pages have been slow to load!
Now, I effectively started on the site on 1st October- an auspicious start date. Below is the snapshot of my statistics on the 4th October.

and now my page on 1st November 2007

Its fair to say that this far exceeds my expectations - I have consistently spent several hours per day focussed on Yuwie, sending friends requests, browsing and reading pages of interest, commenting and emailing friends, exploring links, building websites and referral pages and other networking websites.
I really did not expect that the first 4 weeks would earn anything. I have been reluctant to really promote this site to friends until I had a feel for it, but have focussed on introducing the site to others and providing some information to those who may be interested. I have had 17 referrals sign up but 2 of those left without doing anything - I now have 15 referrals as it stands now, and I am guessing but it looks I do actually have earnings, something in the order of $0.70 !! woohoo!!
So there you have my first 4 weeks on Yuwie - this is the warts and all version -the absolute and honest portrayal. But I find myself thinking, if this happened in 4 weeks as I blundered around, what will happen in another 4 weeks, and then another 4 weeks - what about this time next year??
Oh it may be a flight of fancy ... but its fun !

Yuwie Does Pay
Yuwie has announced changes to the payout threshold. Previously members had to have earned a minimum of $50 before being eligible for payment. Members have now been advised that this was being reduced from $50 to $25.00 payable in 60 days net. This means that payment dates for August will be paid in October; September will be paid in December; and October will be paid in January.
So those that reached the $25 in August have been receiving their payments now.
The first Yuwie Checks and PayPal Payments are being received and members have been posting scans of their payment, as proof, that Yuwie does indeed pay !
While there were members commenting about not reaching the $25 threshold - some have posted screens shots of their first months earnings for example Patrick $71.13,Buddy $26.48,Vic $99.10.
One of this nice things about Yuwie is the exchange of information between members. The fact that members share details about their successes, and how they achieved them, with a view to assisting others to do the same, makes this network a nice place to be !
I guess the cynics might see it differently, but I believe that by members encouraging and helping others to succeed, this indeed helps grow Yuwie, which as a consequence benefits all the members.

A Bad Week in Yuwieville !
And What a week it has been at Yuwieville ! It seems that Yuwie has been under attack from without AND within this week !!
The Y guy had earlier announced that October RSR rates would be not so healthy for the month of October which produced some grumblings amongst the citizens.
Then, he announces that "the little grey box" which many were reporting popping up on their screens was an attempt at phishing at Yuwie, and that Yuwie would not be asking for email address and passwords from members except on a secured login page. It seems that those who had enterered their details into pop ups would be advised to change their passwords asap!
And then he announced some more policy changes regarding payment for page views from sources external to Yuwie, would not be included in the monthly page views total on which payment was based - this had an effect of some members seeing their monthly pages views diminish, pooof, gone ! Some Members could hardly believe that large numbers, ie. 30,000 - 50,000 views has just disappeared from the control panel records.
And while this was happening, the advertisement load increased, and pop ups and unders, and the Yuwie servers groaned and sighed, and threw up page errors, refused to open pages, and simply went on a huge 'go slow program". And the members at Yuwie were NOT happy !
And that was the good part of the week !!
Now, with any significantly large group of people, there is always a certain section, shall we call them 'self server' - those intent of meeting their own needs. They are everywhere, so it is no surprise to find them popping up at Yuwie, particularly in view of the fact that money is involved. So there is that small minority who send out spam messages to "friends" recommending this or that and including their affiliates links - and OK I guess that is to be expected.
But this week in Yuwie saw the advent of a new form of spam/scam. Members started advertising on the noticeboards for sites external to Yuwie, promising loads of friends and loads of referrals. It seems there were a few different flavors of the same idea - but basically they were attempting to convince the unwary, that they had THE solution to improve Yuwie monthly earnings and it would only cost you $... per month ! They were CERTIFIED experts !
Yeah right ! It is free to join Yuwie, it is free and easy to add friends, and there are many many clubs set up to do just that - for free. So why pay for friends ??? It is also a fact that earnings on Yuwie have the potential to increase when you add referrals - but that is something you can undertake - for free using the many resources available to you. Yuwie itself provides much information on how to build your yuwie. There are many many members who share their knowledge and experience on this, for free !
This is not to mention the fact that these external sites are pulling members away from yuwie pages, and thus affecting the advertising revenue rates for all.
Well to cut a long story short - the Y guy made a pronouncement that these type of sites did NOT comply with the Yuwie terms of service, and that the profiles of those promoting them were shut down until the offending content was removed. He advised that the adding of friends could only be done while logged on to Yuwie and visiting the members page.
And there was much mumbling and grumbling from both sides of the camp ! And the servers groaned and went even slower.
And then today, when I went to login in to Yuwie to collect the weekly stats - it was not possible! Little pop up boxes appeared at every window requesting name and password - popups which were NOT on a secured page !! Every link produced a pop up except - the contact and support links which were dead - Seems some outside force is not happy with Yuwie either !
However, what IS important to remember, is that the majority of the folks at Yuwie are good people, who are intent on enjoying themselves. As this new site is in such a rapid expansion phase, it is normal to expect that such 'hiccups' will occur as Yuwie shakes, rattle and rolls into the social networking scene. In fact all of the above can be seen as a positive, in that it highlights the fact that many are recognising that Yuwie is a force to be reckoned with !

Memberships Stats October 18th

This week:
Total Memberships at Yuwie have increased from 133,799 last week to 158,180 this week- that is an increase of 24,381 in one week, which is approximately 4,500 more than last weeks increase.
New members joining Yuwie, so far for the month of October, have grown to at 53,087.
During the week, many, including myself, have again experienced very slow server response times. The advertising shown on the site has changed format, which might be responsible for the slow page loadings.
Note - this weekly snapshot was taken just after midnight Wednesday (US time)or on Thursday afternoon Australian time.
Now, here is a snapshop of my statistics, two weeks after joining.

To be perfectly honest - I have been busy elsewhere, and have not spent much time at Yuwie. That combined with slow connection, has this being a slow week for me here, and no new referrals were signed up.

It wont happen over night, but it will happen !
Some people are discussing Yuwie, in terms of it being a "Get Rich Quick" scheme. Will you make money on Yuwie? I believe, that like the shampoo ad says, "It wont happen over night, but it will happen ! How much you earn though will depend on Page Views and LOTS of them.
Seriously, though, for most people it is a social network site, not their primary income or only online business venture to fund their retirement. If you watch the introductory videos to get a basic understanding how it works, you will see an explanation of how the revenue is shared, but more importantly you will also see how much fun the social side of networking can be.
Don't get me wrong, some people who joined up 3 months ago, are reporting how pleased they are with their income earned from Yuwie. But more importantly, they are also reporting how much they are enjoying the ride !!
One thing is for sure though, by joining early, you will be in a position to "ride the wave" as Yuwie continues to rapidly grow.

Resistance to Yuwie from committed MySpacers
Will Yuwie replace Myspace as the popular hangout or will Myspacers stay right where they are?
Many of those working to build their network at Yuwie have invited their Myspace friends to join them at Yuwiw. Some join but then after getting signed up are not active at Yuwie, yet remain active on Myspace or other online communities. Why is this?
Asking a few Myspacers about this yielded some interesting responses.
One said "why do you ask? are YOU wanting to make money out of me ? I thought we were friends...."
Another said " At Yuwie, they are all buzzing around like bees swarming - thinking they will get rich quick - they have $ in their eyes"
One commented "I'm not on here to be paid to chat - I am here cos I wanna be and hope that my friends are too"
Another said "it sounds to much like work to me, all I want to do is hangout"
These were interesting comments to me as it seems they had a common negative view about social net working and being paid.
All of these people have at least 50 friends at Myspace. And yes, they could join and each invite their unique friends and do exactly what they are doing now - but they have no interest in doing so.
For example, if Myspacer A signs up twenty five people and they sign up a minimum of three people each and those people sign up three people, and on etc. he could have 1,476,225 on his referral tree and be at the 10th level making that often projected (and often repeated) $10,000 per month doing exactly what he is doing now, inviting friends, socializing and hanging out, provided that all the members he signs up are active. Sounds to me like someone could be missing out on a great opportunity, for something he is already doing for free.
But maybe this is like comparing cats and dogs. Both may be categorized as household pets - but both are totally different animals. I believe that MySpace and Yuwie are also totally different animals.
MySpacers will continue to frequent MySpace because it meets their needs.
Similarly, Yuwiers will continue to browse and click at Yuwie - this may also be because they have their eyes on a prize.
One would hope that the actual building of networks and establishing linkages and connections is recognised as an achievement- and any payments that might come along as part of the process would be a nice bonus.
Well I would hope that !

Weekly Membership Stats as at 4th October 2007

This week,
Total Members have increased from 97,461 last week, to 114,00 today this is a total increase in memberships at Yuwie of 16,539. This is slightly down on last weeks increase but may be due to the server problems making navigation of the site extremely slow, and the fact that the site was offline for maintenance while new servers were installed.
New members so far for the month of October at 8497 looks reasonable.
Note - this weekly snapshot was taken just after midnight Wednesday (US time)or on Thursday afternoon Australian time.
Now, I joined the site last Thursday - but did not really do anything proactive until Monday making 1st October the auspicious start date. Below is a snapshop of my statistics:

We will see what unfolds during the next week before I comment on whether that was a good start - or not ! But, it is fair to say - it surprised me - but wait and see.

OK Whats to lose !!
Its fair to say I have been convinced by my own rhetoric ! I joined YUWIE.
Last Thursday, while visiting the site to collect the weekly stats it occurred to me - as I wrote the post - "you know this site may just do what it claims to" "OK. Whats to lose" and "Its free to join - so why not join". So I signed up -there and then.
I might add that a friend, who is a YUWIE member, had told me about how slow the site was last week, but that still did not prepare me for the tortuous delays in page loadings. It was unbelievably slow. Apparently the servers could not cope with the rapid growth in members and their activities.
Since then I believe that new servers have been commissioned, and the site has been off line on several occasions for maintenance - normally at evening USA times - which sadly is lunch time here in Australia though. But the speed has greatly improved. In fact it was zipping along this morning.
So the weekly stats will now include a progress report on my membership and we will see what happens.

Social networking - six degrees of separation
Social networking is the six degrees of separation through which anyone can be connected to another person through a chain of associates. When anyone tries to expand the number of one’s business contacts, and increase social contacts by making connections through individuals it is termed as social networking. The unparalleled possibility of the internet to promote such connections is only now being fully recognized and exploited, through web-based groups established specifically for the purpose.
Participating in online communities is one of the best ways for organic marketing and social networking has become an essential part in website promotion. Social networking helps to enhance your websites traffic. It allows you to promote your website, web pages, products and services through millions of people who visit community or directory sites where you post links. The back links that are created through these sites will help generate the traffic volume to your site that is already registered with a particular social networking platform that helps to promote your site and business.
The internet is a vast and potentially powerful tool when dealing with the masses, especially when dealing with well known websites and networks. But website promotion also entails some obvious disadvantages. The target audience is not always selective and you can be subject to a lot of bogus enquiries and feedbacks. Privacy is minimal as a social network is visible to all.
However once you have established a strong social network, you will be able to increase the visibility of your site easily. If people like your website, they might increase the chances that others in their respective networks will come across it.

Growing Pains at Yuwie
It seems that the speed of growth in members at Yuwie has overstretched the server capacity and things have slowed to a painfully slow pace. So obvious is the slowness that Yuwie management have apologized, and advised members that they have new servers on order - and hope to have the problems fixed in the next week !

Growth of Yuwie to September 07

Yuwie opened their doors about the start of July 2007. As of Thursday 20th September, there are nearly 80,000 members on Yuwie and approximately 40,000 of those have signed up during September alone. See the Alexa traffic ranking for Yuwie below:
As a first step, Alexa computes the reach and number of page views for all sites on the Web on a daily basis. The main Alexa traffic rank is based on the geometric mean of these two quantities averaged over time (so that the rank of a site reflects both the number of users who visit that site as well as the number of pages on the site viewed by those users). The three-month change is determined by comparing the site's current rank with its rank from three months ago. For example, on July 1, the three-month change would show the difference between the rank based on traffic during the first quarter of the year and the rank based on traffic during the second quarter.

What is Reach?
Reach measures the number of users. Reach is typically expressed as the percentage of all Internet users who visit a given site. So, for example, if a site like yahoo.com has a reach of 28%, this means that of all global Internet users measured by Alexa, 28% of them visit yahoo.com. Alexa's one-week and three-month average reach are measures of daily reach, averaged over the specified time period. The three-month change is determined by comparing a site's current reach with its values from three months ago.
What are Page Views?
Page views measure the number of pages viewed by Alexa Toolbar users. Multiple page views of the same page made by the same user on the same day are counted only once. The page views per user numbers are the average numbers of unique pages viewed per user per day by the users visiting the site. The three-month change is determined by comparing a site's current page view numbers with those from three month ago.
Yuwie.com users come from these countries:
- United States 38.9%
- Philippines 5.1%
- United Kingdom 5.0%
- Canada 3.8%
- India 3.5%

Social Networking Phenomenon
Extra Extra Read all about it.
This blog has been developed to record the development of what appears to be an exciting social networking phenomenon. Rather than relying on hype, and spin my idea is to take a regular snap shot of the happenings and events at YUWIE and present them here with relevant links.
Why? Because when I first heard about Yuwie and the often quoted projected potential for active Yuwie members to make $10,000 a month without investing a penny, well the cynic in me, laughs and says "That's a scam!".
I revisited the site yesterday - and was amazed at the growth in memberships and activities since August. And so the idea was born - why not chart the growth of this new social networking site - so that over time we can see what unfolds. !

what is Yuwie ?

What is Yuwie
Yuwie is a new social network community, that was launched in July 2007. At Yuwie you can send messages, upload pictures, write blogs, join clubs, send messages and make friends. These same features are already available on other sites, but there is an important difference.
Others social networking sites are making an estimated $20 million a month while the users do all the work, Yuwie argues that, unlike the other sites, they want to share their revenue with the users.Yuwie has a detailed set of videos that explains how they are 'changing the game' by paying their users for 'playing around on the internet'.
This new social network differs from others like MySpace in that it PAYS its users for their online activity and the activities of those whom they refer. You get paid for every action you take on the site. Every change you make to your profile, every picture/blog/video you post, and not only that, you get paid for every time another user looks at your profile or content that you have created or posted.
On the 15th of each month, Yuwie decides (based on how much they made in the previous month) how much will be given out to each user, an amount that you can track from the 'earnings' section of your profile. Page visits are counted and are paid for at the end of every month.
While the amount of you make depends on how much you interact with the site, here is a look at sample earnings based on the 10 levels of referrals and assuming a revenue-sharing rate of $0.50. (The revenue share rate for the month of August 2007 was $0.47 per thousand views.)
The chart below assumes you refer 3 people, and those 3 people refer 3, then those refer 3, through 10 levels, and each referral gets 1000 page views for the month, and the month's RSR is $0.50.

The message that is given is that Your job is NOT to find hundreds and hundreds of subscribers, your job is to find 3 and teach them to do the same. Find 3 and teach them how to find 3 and teach their 3 to find 3 etc. etc. etc..
